What files can I import?

Tertius accepts common audio and video formats including MP3, WAV, M4A, MP4, MOV, MKV, and WebM. A file can be up to three hours long and must contain a readable audio track.

Does Tertius upload the whole video?

No. Tertius extracts a compact audio copy on your computer, sends bounded audio segments for transcription, then deletes the temporary files. The source audio or video never leaves your chosen folder.

Do I need an OpenAI API key?

No. Tertius uses a managed online service, and OpenAI credentials stay on the server. Tester accounts currently include 120 transcription minutes per month plus a managed outcome-processing allowance, subject to beta limits.

How do I sign in to the Tertius beta?

Request tester access with your email, install Tertius, then ask the app to send a six-digit sign-in code to the same address. No password or separate OpenAI account is required.

This is a controlled Windows tester release. Your email unlocks a short-lived private installer link, identifies the tester account used for six-digit sign-in codes, and lets Tertius send important build notices. Tertius does not sell addresses or send a general newsletter.

Will imported recordings be saved?

The original media is never copied into Trail. If history is enabled, Tertius stores the transcript, final outcome, and local metadata, not the audio or video.
